Once the WAR file has been added to the J2EE container, there's a procedure to follow in order to complete the installation of the product. In this tutorial, we assume that you have an instance of the product running available on http://localhost:8080/wms_sample/

Basic parameters

Access http://localhost:8080/wms_sample/admin, click on the Technical Configuration Tab, click on the Installation wizard arrow.

This will start the first step of the installation wizard :

Clicking on the click and go link will start the installation process and brings you to the first step.

Step 1: Defining SAN and admin directories

This step allow you to define
  • the administrative directory
  • the applicative directory
  • database connection string

If you are following this article from the How to install WEDIA WMS in Eclipse, you should fill in the fields with :
  • The path to the admin directory you created
  • the path to the san directory you created
  • the string JNDI java:comp/env/jdbc/wms_sample (if you followed the previous tutorial up to the connection pool definition)
Note that if you're using tomcat and a connection pool, you must not fill in the user and password (as the API using both is not implemented).
Click save. If you have not already installed your application, it will lead you to the database configuration step:

Step 2: Database configuration

During this step of the installation process, required database objects will be created. You should not alter anything in the executing script (unless if you know exactely what you're doing).

Click on the Execute script button.

Step 3: SAN initialization

During this step, the SAN directory will be initialized.

Click on the create button. This will lead you to the 4th step.

Step 4: NAR restoration

This fourth and last step allows you to restore a NAR (Noheto ARchive). NAR files proposed at this point are application NARs. You can choose from Matrix.nar which is the minimum application for running WEDIA XMS engine or the WMS nar which contains WEDIA WMS application.

Click on the right picto to restore the appropriate NAR. This will open a window logging all the process.

Congratulations ! you installed successfully the application
