Wedia receives ISO 27001:2013 certification

We are happy to announce that the Information Security Management System of Wedia has been assessed and registered as conforming to the requirements of ISO 27001:2013. 

Wedia is ISO 27001 certified. This certification shows Wedia’s commitment to information security standards. 

What is the ISO 27001 standard?

The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) developed, in cooperation with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the ISO/IEC 27000 family of standards which helps organizations keep various information assets secure, such as financial information, intellectual property and employee details entrusted to organizations by third parties. 

ISO 27001 is the best-known standard in the family providing requirements for an information security management system (ISMS), a risk management framework of policies and procedures for managing sensitive company information that an organization collects, stores, transmits or processes from customers. Companies that adopt ISO 27001:2013, the latest version of this standard, are therefore required to successfully meet a set of requirements for “establishing implementing, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and improving an ISMS.” 

While this international standard is suitable to all organizations, regardless of type or size, it is not obligatory. Companies that adopt this standard, however, indicate a strong and ongoing commitment to effectively safeguard all information related to their customers.

What does this certification mean for Wedia clients?
